Obituary

Joe Bischofberger, a Fremont resident for 36 years, formerly of Oakland and a native of Denver, passed away on January 1, 2013.
Loving husband for 45 years to Geraldine Irene Bischofberger. Devoted father of Thomas F. Bischofberger and wife Lisa of Newark, Jonathon G. Bischofberger and wife Susan of Alameda, and the late Joseph Bischofberger. Cherished grandfather of Arrick, Mathew and Ryan Bischofberger.
Joe enjoyed baseball and spending time with his family, especially attending his grandsons' sporting activities. He also enjoyed public service and giving back to his community. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1962 - 1969. He served on the Senior Citizens Commission, the AC Transit Board of Directors for 12 years where he participated in setting up local paratransit services. Longtime involvement with Babe Ruth Baseball in Fremont and Northern California.
Friends and family are invited to attend a 2:00 P.M. Celebration of Life on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538.
