Resided in: Milpitas, California

Elvira passed away at her home in Milpitas, California on July 24th, 2018 at the age of 62. Born October 1, 1955 in the Azores, Portugal, she moved to Stoughton, Massachusetts with her family at the age of 4. She was proud of her Portuguese heritage and equally proud to earn her United States citizenship. A graduate of Stoughton High School, Ellie married Steven DeRosa in May, 1985. Shortly after, they moved to Milpitas, California where they made their living and raised two children Nicholas and Natalie. Ellie was a Customer Service Representative for A&D Engineering in San Jose for the last 27 years. Ellie made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She could light up a room with just her smile. The friendships she made were genuine, the love of family sincere. She loved all holidays because it fulfilled two of her passions, shopping and decorating. Ellie would never want to pass up an event and she lifted the spirits of everyone around her with her zest to sing and dance. She was selfless, caring, compassionate, a devoted mother and loving wife. She will surely be missed by all. Elvira is survived by her husband Steven, son Nicholas, daughter Natalie, Sisters Mary Ramos and Maria Costa, Brothers Joe, Adam, Angelo and John Almeida and several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her Father Joao Almeida, Mother Maria Almeida and brother Americo Almeida. Guestbook

  1. Dear De Rosa Family,

I’m so sorry for your loss. My heart is grieving for you.
I remember spending many times visiting together at baseball games when our boys were playing together. She was a very special and lovely person.
    My sincerest condolences.
    Adam’s mom- Shonna

  2. So sorry for your loss. Heaven now has a new Angel. We were all blessed to have her in our lives.

  3. She was one of a kind.I always enjoyed her company when she was at Steven’s family’s house with everyone to celebrate Holidays when they came to N.Y..I know she is a beautiful Angel

  4. Every ounce of me cries no, no, no as I wish this is just a bad dream. Sorrowfully, it’s no dream, it is life, and death is a part of life. One of my San Jose opera mentors used to say “if death is a part of life it can’t be so bad now, can it?” She was right because clinging to the hope of the resurrection is what first drew me to God and holds me fast. Knowing Ellie is in a better place directs me to the faith for perseverance through this tremendous loss. I wish everyone a blessed celebration of life for our Proverbs 31 Ellie.

  5. My sincere condolences to you Steven and the kids. We are all grieving Elvira’s
passing. She was a joy of a person on this earth, I certainly remember her fun personality. I was blessed to have her as my cousin. She will be missed. May your happy memories help you during this difficulties time. May she Rest In Peace now.

  6. We will NEVER forget Ellie’s kind and gentle heart. She was, indeed, everyone’s best friend. Peace be with you dear Ellie. Sandy and I will miss your bright smile! The Lord will help us try to lead our lives in your memory.

Rest In Peace, Sandy and the Montague’s

  7. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Steve,Nick and Natali. We will always remember the fun times out on the soccer field every Saturday morning at Morrill Jr. High School when our daughters first started playing soccer together and also going to a couple of baseball games between the A’s and Yankees. Ellie, your smile and personality will be greatly missed. May you Rest In Peace in your new beautiful world with the Lord.

  8. Steve, Nick and Natalie, you are in my thoughts and prayers today. I am so lucky to have known Ellie, lucky to have laughed with Ellie, lucky to have enjoyed baseball with Ellie, and many more reasons I was lucky to know Ellie. I will never forget your smile, zest for life and your generosity. You will be greatly missed, Ellie, may you Rest In Peace. Marilyn

  9. Steve, Nick, and Natalie,

I just heard from Angi and I am so sorry for your loss. Ellie was such an amazing and kind-hearted person. Think of all the great memories as that’s what I do 11 years since my Mom passed. Some days are harder than others. But she is watching over you all. She is now pain-free. Love to all of you!
