Barbara Catherine Lowell

Barbara Catherine Lowell passed away peacefully on September 14, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on December 14, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to Clare and Viola Phillips. Barbara lived in Rockford, IL, Tulsa, OK, Minneapolis, MN, Oklahoma City, OK, Albuquerque, NM, Harrison and Capp, AK. In 1964 she settled in Fremont, CA where she raised her 5 children. Barbara graduated from nursing school in 1956 and was a nurse at Washington Hospital for 26 years. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degree at Redlands University in Redlands, CA. Barbara loved to read and enjoyed watching sports, especially football. She enjoyed gardening, sailing, glider flying, motorcycle riding and she lived for her family. She was a member of the American Nurses Association and the California Nurses Association. Barbara is survived by her loving daughters, Karen Gonzales and husband Richard of Fremont, CA. Karla Park and husband Wayne of Vacaville, CA. Loving Sons, Keith Maldonado of Fremont, CA, Kevin Maldonado and Kent Overton of Eugene, OR. Seven grandchildren, Ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538.
