Born in:
Pamona, California
Resided in:
Fremont, California
Steve passed with his family by his side after five years of battling Neuroendocrine cancer. He fought a gallant fight and is already missed by so many. Steve was born in Pomona, CA and grew up in Glendora, CA. He moved to Milpitas his senior year and graduated from Samuel Ayer High School in 1975. The first half of Steve’s career was in the liquor business. He worked for Joseph George Distributing in San Jose and then later as an outside Sales Rep for Bay Area Distributing of Richmond, CA. In 1995, he met the love of his life, Kimberly Barker Plant. They married on October 9, 1998 and created a close and loving family with the children that they both had from previous marriages. In 1997, Steve took a chance at a second career in the abatement business when he joined P.W. Stephens Environmental, Inc. He started as an estimator and got promoted to Branch Manager and ultimately, became the V.P. of Northern California, overseeing three branches. Steve was highly regarded in his industry and more than not, his clients (and even competitors) became his close friends. Steve was the kind of guy whose smile, whit, laughter and charisma was bigger than life. He lit up any room he came into and left a wonderful impression on all that he met. He left this earth surrounded by his family at home.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Robert MacFarlane, his Step Father, Bill Sheller and his brother, Brian MacFarlane. He leaves behind his mother, Joy MacFarlane Sheller Amsbaugh, his Wife, Kimberly MacFarlane, Sons, Brandon MacFarlane, Dustin MacFarlane and Kyle Plant, granddaughters, Mikaylah MacFarlane and Aaliyah MacFarlane, brother, Dave MacFarlane (Tracy), sister Liza Aronson, nieces, Nikki MacFarlane, Kaylee MacFarlane, Macy MacFarlane, nephews, Josh MacFarlane, Ryan MacFarlane, Christopher MacFarlane, Justin Barker, Ryan Barker and Evan Barker.
Steve will be missed by so many as he was definitely “One of the good ones”. Rest in peace, Steve MacFarlane, you are gone from this world, but we know you are up in heaven watching over us all.
