On Tuesday, September 1st 2020, Lisa Marie Aguiar Cromer, loving sister, mother and nana, passed away at the age of 54.
Lisa was born on March 12th, 1966 to Michael P. Aguiar and Susan Aguiar in Hayward, CA. Lisa was the second oldest of four siblings. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Jeff H. Cromer in 1989. Together they had two children, Jeffrey and Julia. Lisa worked as an Administrative Assistant for 16 years at the Union Sanitary District located in Union City, CA. after attending business college until she retired due to her Rheumatoid Arthritis. She moved to Rocklin, CA with her family in late 2005. Her first grandchild was born in 2014 and she became a Nana. She took care of her grandchildren daily.
Lisa loved reading, cycling through one book after another, single-handedly keeping the libraries in business. Her other passion was her two grand babies, Julian and Alaina. She was devoted to making them happy any way she knew how. Which was not just limited to creating games, telling stories, or snuggling, but also refusing to ever tell her grandchildren “no”. Her love of Diet Coke was unparalleled. If you knew Lisa, you knew her to be never without one in hand. Lisa loved to give, her favorite holiday being Christmas, where she could spoil her loved ones with the special gifts she had picked out for each of them. More important to her than the gift itself, was the presentation of the gift – specifically the wrapping. She was an avid lover of Disneyland, always stopping to get some Beignets from the Jazz Kitchen, before heading into Main Street to peruse the stores. Lisa was strong, even after being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and suffering its debilitating effects, she never let that stand in the way of something she wanted to do. Lisa faced many struggles and had to overcome some difficult hurdles throughout her life. She rarely, if ever, complained about any pain or issue. She valued family above all else, and constantly put others before her. Her compassion, love, empathy, and general willingness to always help will be sorely missed by the loved ones she leaves behind.
Lisa was preceded by her father Michael P. Aguiar and his mother, Kathryn Dunam and her maternal grandmother Dorothea Guthmiller. She is survived by: her mother Susan, her son and daughter, Jeff and Julia, her daughter in law, Arielle, her brother Steven, and sisters, Kathie and Debbie along with all her cousins, nieces and nephews.
An intimate service will be held on Friday, September 11th, 2020 at the Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in honor of Lisa to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California.
I pray that the good memories will overtake most of the great sadness…and that those memories wil help to fill the hole in your heart.
