  1. CandleTo Jan’s Family,
As you all must know, Jan lived for her family and was so proud of each of you. She always spoke about the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. I always remember her carrying a purse that had clear photo slots on the outside, so she could proudly display her family. Our WOWs group (Women of Washington) will never be the same. She will forever be in our hearts.
    With Love & Sympathy,
    Karen Darnell

  2. I was a friend of the WOW group. I met Jan at Beve Goomas’s a few years ago. She was a good friend and always willing to help anyone who needed her help. I will miss her. I send my condolences to all of her family and friends who are sad a her passing. May you find peace and comfort that she is in a good place now and out of pain. I send my love to you all.. Donna Bergener

  3. CandleIn the early 80’s we met Jan and her son Devin thru my sister, Rhonda at the skating rink. We built a great bond and friendship over the years. Our oldest son, Steven spent many days and night at their home and built a strong relationship with Jan, she was like a 2nd mom to him. Jan was a true friend showed great kindness and love to our entire family. We loved her and will truly miss her.

  4. CandleI met Jan through her son Devin and she was easy to love right away. She was incredibly kind, sweet, easy to talk to, young at heart and full of life. It was very evident her kids and grandkids were her world. Although, I am happy she will no longer be in pain, she will be incredibly missed. She was a special, lovable woman to be remembered.

  5. CandleJan and I were fellow skating moms. Our boys met when they were 6 years old at the Fremont Roller Rink. Our friendship and theirs grew over a decade of skating events, taking us all over the country. We did it to keep our kids busy and on the right path…it worked. Our families had great times together. Jan will be missed by many.

  6. CandleI met Jan in the 80’s through our kids skating and our friendship continues through the years. When I think the word Mom, Jan truly embodied that moniker and was mom to many skating kids. My heart goes out to the family as I know the love they had for each other. Dear sweet Jan may you Rest In Peace until we meet again!

  7. Jan and I worked together at Washington High School. She was devoted and very successful in supporting and helping our students. Our friendship continued over the years, when we enjoyed many lunches and other events together. For me, that included many invitations to join in her family’s activities. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, and I know losing her presence is very painful for them. My heart and my prayers are for their comfort, especially in knowing that Jan was such a good friend to all.

  8. CandleI worked at WHS with Jan for years—I still work there. She was fun and kind and witty and cared about everyone. Several of us continued in contact with weekly morning coffee gatherings—Jan included. So many of my happy memories include Jan. She loved her family so much.

  9. CandleJan has a very special place in our hearts. We met when Devin was only six he was my first skater. We spent many years making so many amazing memories. Jan was a second mom to my son Jared and very loved by our family. She always brings so much love and kindness to those around her, she will be greatly missed, we send our love to her family.

  10. CandleLove and prayers for the family of Jan. She was a great person and I’m sure will be greatly missed by her family.
