Patrick (“Pat”) Gearheart Weber passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 4, 2025, at the age of 72.
Born on June 7, 1953, to Betty Jean Weber (née Stewart) and Gearhart (Ed) Edwin Weber in Fresno, California. Pat grew up with his brothers, Bob, Tom, and Mike in Fresno with summers in San Francisco and Yosemite National Park. Pat and his family later moved to Concord, California where he graduated from Clayton Valley Highschool and attended Diablo Valley college. Pat married his first wife, Janice Shand (now Buchholz) in 1974 and had his first child, Wendy in 1981. They divorced in 1984. He then met his second wife, Joy Hill. They married in 1986 and were married for 39 years.
Pat is survived by his wife Joy; his children Wendy, Mathew, Jennifer, and Darren as well as their partners Simran Weber, Jared Searl, and Ramzi Matta; his grandchildren Olive and Wyatt. Pat is further survived by his siblings, Tom, Mike, Steve, Chris, Susan, and Karen, along with many others who were proud to call him family or friend.
Pat earned his BS in Statistics and a BA in Economics with honors and then a master’s degree in Statistics from Cal State Hayward. He began his professional career at the Federal Reserve in San Francisco before spending more than 20 years at Lockheed Martin. Analytical and precise, Pat had a gift for problem-solving—no challenge was too large or too complex. His many years as a professional facilitator satisfied both his intellectual thirst and appetite for attention.
Beneath a sometimes abrasive exterior, Pat was endlessly kind and generous. He welcomed friends and family into his home during difficult times, cared for his ailing Mother as she battled dementia, bottle-fed an orphaned kitten for months, and quietly gave of himself when a friend or family was in need. He was an endless fountain of knowledge, always learning, always eager to share what he discovered—simply because he thought others might also find joy in it.
Pat lived without regrets, filling his years with humor, curiosity, creativity, and love. He lived fully—taking road trips along the California coast with Joy, tending to his garden, cooking for loved ones, and exploring new hobbies until the very end. He will be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who gave deeply of himself when it mattered most, and whose life was a true celebration of joy and love.
