Josephine Anne Curran
December 22, 1935 ~ October 13, 2026
Born in:
Denver, Colorado
Resided in:
Fremont, California
Josephine Anne Curran (Joanne) had a happy joyous life before passing away on October 13th, 2026. She was surrounded by her children (Ted, Jim, Debbie, Katie, John and Pat) even up to the time of her passing.
Her parents were Epifanio Nepomoceno Jaquez and Maria Leonora Garcia. She was one of 8 children and was born in Denver, Colorado. The family settled in Stockton, Ca. when she was a child. Family was important to her, and she loved spending time with her cousins and family.
She was married to Edward Earl Curran (Earl) for 45 years. Earl was an English Teacher and Joanne was a Nurse. She took a 15-year break from Nursing and had six children in 8 years. She then proceeded to continue Nursing as a Labor and Delivery Nurse for 25 years. After Earl passed, she volunteered at a clinic for those who did not have medical insurance and worked there for 15 years and was often translating because she was fluent with Spanish. At one point she travelled to Guatemala to assist with surgeries for the less fortunate.
It was important to Earl and Joanne that their kids travelled and were familiar with nature. Their summers were filled with camping trips like Oregon and a trip to Alaska with the kids in tow. Earl and Joanne were rockhounds so there were many stops along the way, much of the dismay of their children.
Joanne survives with two brothers, one sister, six kids, four daughter-in-law, two son-in-law, eighteen grandchildren, twenty- five great grandchildren, and many friends in her church and community.
She loved being a grandma and great grandma often sharing shells or gemstones with her grandchildren.
After my dad’s passing, she took it upon creating and gathering a support group for those who were lonely or widowed. They enjoyed their time together.
Joanne had a full life and is now with Earl watching over all of us. She will be missed but always in our hearts.
