Alexander Michael Calderon passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 10, 2017. He was 66 years old. Alex was born to William and Joella Calderon on March 3, 1951 in Los Angeles, California. Alex met and married his beloved wife, Veronica Catherine Rodriguez and they celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary earlier this month. They resided together in Fremont for over 40 years.
Retiring from Ferma Corporation, Alex worked as a heavy equipment operator and was part of the Operating Engineers Local 3 Union for 40 years. Alex was an avid wood turner and pipe smoker. He loved motorcycles, being outdoors, bird watching and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Alex is survived by his wife Veronica Calderon and their three daughters; Adriana (Andy) Anaya, Melanie (Danny) Newberry & Erica (Robert) Rains. Grandchildren Alessandra and Adam Anaya, Nathaniel, Jonah, Penelope and Dakota Newberry. His mother Joella Calderon, his siblings Rebecca (Kirk) Peterson and Bill Calderon. He is preceded in death by his father, William Calderon.
Alex will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
A viewing will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a Rosary at 3:30 at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Boulevard, Fremont on Sunday, December 17, 2017. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels followed by a reception at 5316 Audubon Park Court, Fremont.

I am so sad to hear of Alex’s passing he was my cousin and hadn’t seen him in a long time .I am sure he will dearly missed by all who loved him. I will always have fond memories of him from our youth…I still remember he had a Hila Monster that spit it was gross but so cool a spitting lizard.So sending my prayers and condolences for his wife and children and grandchildren and of course his dearest friends.May God and his Angels find and bring you comfort at this time But , know now that he is in the company of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God and in the company his Angels in Heaven.All my love to you Alex form your cousin Anna.
