Arlene Baca-Cardera

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Arlene Baca-Cardera—beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend—on June 24, 2025, in Fremont, California. She was 68 years old.

Arlene was a truly selfless and loving woman who welcomed everyone she met with open arms and treated them like family. Known for her generosity and compassion, she was always ready to help others—giving freely, loving deeply, and living with a quiet strength that inspired those around her.

Born on November 22, 1956, Arlene found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved riding her bike, camping, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy.

She was a devoted mother to her son Ernest, a loving mother-in-law to Aimee, and a proud grandmother to Nathaniel, Amaya, and Ernesto. Arlene was the cherished wife of the late James Cardera, and is now reunited with him, as well as with her beloved parents, Ernesto and Eleanor Baca, and her brother Roy.

Arlene is survived by her siblings Glen, David, Lisa, and Annette, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her warm smile, kind spirit, and unwavering love.

Though her final years were marked by health challenges, Arlene faced them with courage and grace. Her strength, devotion to family, and generous heart leave a lasting legacy.

A memorial service will be held to honor her life at 11 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Berge Pappas Smith chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont blvd., Fremont, CA 94538.

She will be laid to rest with her parents, as was her final wish at Irvington Memorial Cemetery following the services.
