Carol Ann "Candy" Royster
March 10, 1957 ~ December 7, 2025
Resided in:
Fremont, California
Carol Ann (Candy) Royster, a lifelong resident of Fremont, passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2025 at the age of 68. Born Carol Manchester on March 10, 1957, Candy grew up attending Kennedy High School and Ohlone Community College, building a life defined by hard work and an adventurous spirit.
For nearly 40 years, Candy was a fixture at Oceanic. She rarely took a day off and formed lifelong bonds with both colleagues and customers. Outside of work, Candy was at her happiest in the sun—whether she was boating, camping, sitting on the beach or simply enjoying a glass of Chardonnay.
Known for her sharp wit and refreshingly genuine nature, Candy was someone you could always count on to say exactly what she was thinking. She was fiercely independent but lived for her family. She never forgot a birthday, loved watching Hallmark movies with her grand-dog Winston, and cherished her morning ritual of a quiet cup of coffee and the newspaper to start the day.
Over the last three years, Candy faced her battle with cancer with a positivity that inspired everyone around her. She fought with unwavering faith, always looking at the bright side and never giving up.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Chuck (Charles) Royster and her parents, Virginia and Robert Manchester. Her legacy of love and strength lives on through her daughter, Tiffany Haynes; step-children Anita Silveria and Charlie Royster; her cherished grandchildren: Dylan, Mason, Nathan, Ronnie, Saybra, and Annika, and her brother, Eric Manchester.
In honor of Candy’s fighting spirit, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
