Carol Ann Emmett passed away peacefully at her home after a lengthy illness with family by her side. She was born and raised in Fremont, California to Peter & Evelyn Brown on December 19, 1932. Carol attended and graduated from Washington High School in 1950, where she met her future husband, G. Wayne Emmett. They were married for 50 years. A resident of Newark, California for 56 years, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and was active in community service and social events including LOV Newark and the Red Hats. She had many loving friends and neighbors. She was actively involved with her husband in the early years of Emmett Construction, Inc. established in 1966. She was a lover of animals, children, travel, and dining out. She was very involved in any and all activities her children enjoyed as they were being raised including scouts, campfire girls, PTA, Newark Days and many others. Carol was proceeded in death by her husband, Wayne (2002) and son, Don (1996). She is survived by her three children, George, Roger and Tami; her sister, Georgia Silva (Mel); ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Family gives thanks to her devoted caretakers Tania and Mele and her hospice nurse Li. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ARF, Walnut Creek, CA; Cure PSP, New York, NY; Diabetes Youth Family, Concord, CA or hospice. Per Carol’s request, services are private.
