Eleodoro Hijar, a.k.a. Louie by his friends and family, passed away on March 3rd, 2019 at the age of 69. Louie was born in Cajatambo, Lima, Perú on November 21st, 1949. He is survived by his beloved wife Betty, their two sons Jonathan and Nathan, his grandson Aiden, his daughter Abigail from a previous relationship, his sisters and brothers who live in New York and Perú, and his nephews and nieces.
He worked for over 35 years as an auto body technician in well-known auto dealerships.
Louie and Betty met in California and decided to settle down here where they built a beautiful home for themselves and their two kids. During their life in the Bay Area they developed long-lasting friendships and took many family trips. Louie’s favorite pastime during these travels was to play with his sons Jonathan and Nathan to whom he devoted any free time he had. His dedication to his family made him the special father and husband he was.
In spite of the distance, Louie always remembered his family in Perú and visited them whenever possible. He talked fondly of his childhood, his brothers, his sisters and above all his parents.
Louie loved Latin music, enjoyed traditional meals prepared by the family and was an avid sports fan. His favorite team was the Golden State Warriors and he loved watching games with his sons. His friends and family will remember him for his kindness, generosity, easy going manner, and the joy he brought to others and with which he lived each day. All the nephews and nieces will especially remember him for his positive outlook on looking on life, how much he cared for all of them, and how loved he always made them feel. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
