Guillerma Pesino Cruz died peacefully on March 15, 2019 at the age of 95. Born in Albay, Philippines, Guillerma was a long-time resident of Fremont, California. She is preceded in death by her loving husbands Celedonio and Alfredo; parents, Pedro and Juanita; and siblings, Macaria, Honorio, Arcadio, and Leoncio. She leaves behind her four children, Glicerio (Corazon) from her first marriage to Celedonio Ocampo; Joseph (Shen), Barbara (Voltaire), and Evangeline (Felipe, Jr.) from her second marriage to Alfredo Cruz. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children, eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren: Jerry (Shelly: Nathan and Romulus), Marites (Ritchie: Joshua and James), Gigi (Arren: Kurteis and Kyrie), Gerald, Bobby (Ivon: Brenden, Scarlett, Stella), Bruce, Raquel (Virgilio: Justin and Noah), Michael Joseph (Lizabeth: Zachary, Nicholas, and Jonathan) from Joseph’s first marriage to Alice; Angela, Daniel, and Joseph Caleb. She also leaves behind extended family and friends worldwide. Guillerma was also known to her family and friends as Irma or Mimay. She was primarily raised by her eldest sister Macaria, having lost their parents at an early age. Around 16 years old, she moved to Manila with her sister and brother Arcadio. Leoncio stayed behind in Albay and Honorio moved to Mindanao. She was married to her first husband Celedonio Ocampo from 1943 until his untimely death in 1944. She remarried in 1950 to Alfredo Cruz and established a family in Malabon. After the passing of her husband and sister, she emigrated from the Philippines to the United States in 1982 and settled in Oxnard, California. She found an active role at a local church which introduced her to new friends such as the Jacobe Family. She attained her U.S. citizenship in 1987 and moved to Fremont, California. Guillerma was a talented dressmaker, skilled in Filipino cuisine, and had a passion for gardening. She loved her family unconditionally. She will be remembered for her wisdom, compassion, humor, and resilience. She will be missed by her loving family and friends. The public viewing will be held on Monday, March 25, from 4:30 - 8 p.m. at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, from 10 - 11 a.m. at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels. The interment will be at 11:15 a.m. in Irvington Memorial Cemetery.
