Jeanne Wright

Jeanne Marie (Marquis) Wright, beloved wife, mother, sister, friend and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2025, in Fremont, California.  Jeanne was 83.

Born on June 18, 1942, in New York, NY, Jeanne lived a life marked by love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to  family. She was the cherished wife of 60 years to Norman W. Wright, and a devoted mother to their son, Tom Wright, and his wife, Christy, and to their daughter, Ellen Jeanne Cohune, and her husband, Dave.

Jeanne was a proud and loving Nana to Garrett (30), Lauren and Paige (28) Cohune, and Heather (26), and Ryan (20) Wright. Her kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched everyone around her and will continue to inspire her family and friends for generations to come.

The nurturing oldest of six, Jeanne is survived by her siblings: Tom Marquis, Linda Alt, Ron Marquis, Bill Marquis and Nancy Orkins.

She will be remembered for her warmth, humor, creativity, grace, and steadfast support of those she loved. Jeanne’s legacy is one of compassion, intellect, quiet strength, and always putting others first—a guiding light in the lives of all who were fortunate to know her. She manifested her special qualities through her art, her writing, her culinary passion and her ever present sense of humor.

A private service will be held to celebrate Jeanne’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jeanne’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the Washington Health Foundation. These organizations reflect causes that were close to Jeanne’s heart and honor her enduring legacy of care and compassion.
