  3. Ken always bring his positivity every time he walks into the room. I remember Ken’s smile and his bright eyes when having a conversation with him. It is a big loss of the De Anza college community. He gave us the best of his knowledge and wisdom to students and staffs. We will always remember Ken in our hearts.

  4. Dear Cousin Ken,

We miss you very much but take solace in knowing that you have moved on to a better place. Rest In Peace Dear Cousin….Rest In Peace.

    We love you very much!

    Ernie & Sandy Weber

  5. Dear Ken,
You were one of those who made me understand what “giving back to the community” is! Your energy will always be here with many of us!!! There is a place for you in Heaven, so Rest In Peace!!!

  6. I felt Ken came through so many difficulties from Japan to the United States. However, he always does not save the words for loving his family and his wife. I believe he must be very happy to be with family in his life. Rest In Peace.

  7. Ken was the first hafu brother that I met. He was so nice and we had a good time at lunch. It was a pleasure to meet you and Cindy. You are too young to go but you are at peace now. I will see on the other side one day.

  8. Ken, I know that we haven’t talked much, but I just wanna say that you’re one of the funniest co-worker that I ever had. We will be here praying for you to be able to Rest In Peace in the afterlife.

  9. I worked with Ken just about one year, but will always remember him as a dedicated teacher and friendly, cheerful co-worker whom I am very thankful for his words of advice. My deepest condolences to Ken’s family.

  10. Cindy, I’m so glad I got to know you if even for just a few hours. You handle yourself with grace and strength in doubly trying times.

  11. Your family was a legacy in the history of our family from as far back as I can recall. I remember on your house on the corner of Ticonderoga and Pome in Sunnyvale, remember that I followed in your footsteps as a member of the Fremont High School marching band (75-79). We met for the first time in Okinawa in 2003 on a visit back to my mother’s homeland. We spent the day together, as I shadowed you in your ESL classes and then we had lunch. And I was so glad to see you had returned to the trumpet, as our paths crossed again in the local big band world in San Jose . I was happy to perform with you at NYE 2018 and to meet your lovely wife.

Hope you’re in a place where trumpets herald and you may rest in eternal peace.

  12. Ken was a stalwart in my music groups at De Anza College who set a wonderful example, especially for the younger students, of what a committed musician should be like. He was also friend who understood my frustration and and joy of directing at the community college. His spirit will be sorely missed!

Cindy, I am very sorry for your sudden loss of Ken. I hope you receive some comfort knowing how appreciated Ken was, particularly by those who played music with him.

    John Russell
Director of Bands, De Anza College

  13. Ken and I were fellow trumpet players and buddies, serving together in the US Navy Band – the Ambassadors. performing in the US and Europe. After our enlistments ended, we traded a few letters, but soon lost touch. For some reason, he has on my mind lately and I just found this obit on a Google search. Your messages show me that Ken continued to be the great man I knew in the early 1970’s. So sorry we missed the chance to reconnect, but I’m glad to see the wonderful legacy he has left behind.
