Moses passed peacefully from this life on the evening of April 3rd after a gradual decline in health. He was supported by his loving family during the last days of his life. Moses was born in Houston, Texas, to the parents of Raymond and Manuela Cardenas. They moved to Salinas, CA around 1952 and then to Oakland, CA where he was raised and graduated from Fremont High. In 1968, he met Emily Apodaca, they got married and had two children. They moved to Fremont, CA in the early 70’s, where he lived for over 40 years. Moses was a big sports fan and loved talking about it. He had Oakland Raider season tickets for many years and also loved watching the A’s, Warriors and boxing. He loved music, dancing and back in the day was known for his dance moves. He never turned away family, if they needed a place to stay his door was always open. He was a hard worker and a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He most recently moved to Manteca, CA in February of 2020 where he lived the remainder of his life.
Moses is survived by two children Antoinette Cardenas-Hill (Brian) and Moises Cardenas; seven grandchildren: Davina Cardenas (Joe), Ramon Cardenas, Desirae Osejo, Andrew Cardenas, Priscilla Cardenas, Aryana Cardenas, and Moises Cardenas; one great-grandchild; Soila Martinez. Moses is also survived by his sisters Rebecca Montoya and Paula Ramponi. He was proceeded in death by his granddaughter Bryana Osejo, brother Raymond Cardenas and sister Cynthia Nevarez.
A dad’s love is special, a gift beyond compare. You only know the meaning when he is no longer there. A special time, a special face, a special dad I can’t replace, with an aching heart I whisper low, I miss you dad and Love you so.
