July 14, 1937 ~ December 5, 2025

Resided in: Fremont, California

Ninfa Ayala Villescaz passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2025, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children Omero (Lori), Leticia (Albert), and Frank (Hyun Joo); her grandchildren Roman (Ashley), Theresa (Giovany), and Maria-Luisa; and her great-granddaughter, Angelina. She is also lovingly remembered by her “daughters of the heart”—Diana, Masae, and Kelli—whom she cherished as her own. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos H. Villescaz.

Born in Huamuxtitlán, Guerrero, México, Ninfa came to the United States determined to build a better life for her family. Though she had little formal education, she possessed a sharp mind, remarkable common sense, and an uncanny ability to cut straight to the heart of any matter. She taught herself English by reading the newspaper daily—a habit she maintained well into her later years—and she could discuss politics or swap recipes with equal passion.

Ninfa was a woman of quiet grace and incredible strength. Her home was a place of welcome for all, and her cooking—always exceptional—was a gift she shared generously. A seat at Ninfa’s table was something to be treasured.

In recent years, Ninfa faced cancer with courage, dignity, and humility, inspiring everyone around her. Her family is deeply grateful to Kaiser Hospice for their extraordinary support, which allowed Ninfa to remain at home in comfort. They extend special thanks to her nurse, Lawrence Chaudhary, for his excellent care and dedication, and to her daughter-in-law, Hyun Joo for her loving devotion and care of Ninfa.

Ninfa was our queen. Her passing leaves a space in our lives that cannot be filled, but her spirit and love will remain with us always

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 19 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 43148 Mission Blvd., Fremont, CA. Internment following Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery, 300-400 Felipe Common, Fremont CA.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. For many years I would see Ninfa at her family’s holidays. Welcoming and warm, she was also the no-nonsense, stable center of any gathering. If she was there, the food would be wonderful, and, more importantly, with her presence it seemed that all problems could be solved. She’s gone now, but her wisdom lives on in the memory of her friends and family. May that memory be a blessing to us all.
