Pedro Alfaro Camarillo, 76, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 in Salinas, California from complications of Alzheimer’s. He was born on March 11, 1942 in Ecuandureo, Michoacan, Mexico to father, Pedro Camarillo Cendejas and mother, Maria Del Refugio Alfaro Rico. Pedro moved to California in 1963 where he met his first wife, Mary Catherine Rose (d. 2009) and had a son, Pedro Camarillo Jr. Pedro’s second marriage to Luz Delia Hernandez blessed them both with two fine sons, Alberto and Victor. Pedro Alfaro Camarillo answered the Lords calling for 29 years as a pastor for the Rebirth In Christ Church in Castro Valley, California. His calling drew him further still, to performing missionary work with the indigenous peoples of Columbia, Brazil, and Peru. Senior Camarillo reveled in the beauty of nature. During his lifetime he often loved to travel to Mexico, to go fishing and swimming with his sons Alberto and Victor, and later in life, found joy by simply feeding the ducks at the local park. Pedro also had the heart of an artist, as he loved to paint beautiful sceneries. Pedro Camarillo had a great love for life, and greater still, a love for his family. He was known by all for his playful nature and great sense of humor. Those who knew him will never forget his warm smile and twinkling eyes. Pedro leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Luz Delia Hernandez (Salinas), his son Pedro (Barbara) Camarillo of Titusville, FL; son Alberto Camarillo of Salinas, and Victor (Lisa) Camarillo of Vallejo, Ca. Pedro has 6 granddaughters and one grandson. Pedro was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Ernestina and his brother Alejandro. He is survived by his 3 sisters, Elisa, Teresa and Elevia and 3 brothers Arnulfo, Sergio and Octavio. Interment will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery, 24591 Fairview Ave, Hayward, California at 10:30 am on Friday, April 27, 2018. A Memorial Service will follow at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of Angels in 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, California at 1:00 pm.
