December 14, 1952 ~ July 5, 2025

Resided in: Pleasanton, California

Ric Perez passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2025, after a brief battle with Cancer. He was 72. Surrounded by his family, Ric left this world the same way he lived it, full of grace, strength, and heart.
Born in Boston, MA, Ric graduated from Boston College High School in 1970 and went on to build a successful career in property management, where he worked with precision and pride for over 35 years. Known for his sharp attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills, Ric brought structure, passion, and care to every project and team he led.
Despite his deep affection for the West Coast, Ric remained a devoted Boston sports fan. But above all else, his true passion was music. A self-taught musician from an early age, he carried a soul full of melody and found great joy in creating it. Over the years, Ric wrote, recorded, and performed in numerous bands, welcoming his bandmates into his life as family. Whether he was at the keyboard, playing guitar, or filling a room with his deep baritone voice, his creative spirit resonated with everyone around him. He believed music was meant to be shared and did so generously. Ric mentored aspiring musicians with contagious enthusiasm, freely offering his wisdom and inspiration. His huge heart and dedication touched so many lives.
Larger than life in stature and presence, Ric radiated a warmth and charisma that drew people in. To say Ric was a devoted Beatles fan is an understatement. He happily spent hours diving into every album and lyric, often reading “to find the mistakes.” Known far and wide as “Ricipedia” for his encyclopedic knowledge, he brightened every conversation with razor-sharp wit, insight, and laughter. His softer side shone just as brightly: he trained squirrels to eat from his hands and formed an instant bond with every dog he met. He offered guidance without judgment, support without hesitation, and love with unwavering devotion. Those fortunate enough to know him remember a man defined by boundless compassion, contagious humor, and a deep, genuine heart.
Ric is survived by his Daughter, Kerry Ann Rodrick of MA, Sisters, Denise Perez of MA, Yvette Ruiz of FL, and the late Lisa Ruiz of TN. He also leaves behind his beloved Niece, Erika Botts, nephews Carlos Rodriguez, Anthony Ruiz, Hunter Ruiz, great-nephew Thoren Hodge, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary – Where Love Never Grows Oldor any musical education charity for children, honoring Ric’s passion for animals and for nurturing musical creativity in the next generation.
~ May Ric rest in peace, his music eternal, and his spirit forever in our hearts.
All are welcome to attend St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 2 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10:30 am for a Mass to honor Ric’s life.
