Alphene Mary Promes

Alphene Mary Promes, born September 18, 1938, entered into rest on March 7, 2016 in Manteca, California.She is preceded in passing by her parents, Kenneth and Mary Leasor and sisters Marilyn and Kathleen. Alphene's high school sweetheart and husband of 40 years, Ralph, passed away in 1997.She leaves behind her sister Marjorie Dillon, her four children Michael Promes (Vickie), Catherine (Steve) Ray, Christopher (Kimberly) Promes and Bradley (Lisa) Promes. Alphene was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren (with #7 great-grandchild on the way).Alphene lived in Twain Harte the past 20 years where she enjoyed spending time in nature with what she called her critters, the deer, squirrels, foxes and hummingbirds, and most recently, her pet hamster, Hammie. She spent her time playing cards and enjoying her family. A viewing will be held from 5pm-8pm Wednesday, March 9th, and funeral service 11am Thursday, March 10th both at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels in Fremont.The family would like to thank Community Hospice for their swift response and caring touch in Alphene's time of need.
