Arturo Briones Munoz

Arturo Munoz, also known as Ture or Art, passed away from pancreatic cancer at age 66 on Tuesday, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his mother, Ofelia Benitez; daughter, Ofelia; son, Jesse; sisters, Hilda and Romelia; granddaughters, Esmeralda and Nayeli. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Munoz.Arturo was born in San Angelo, Texas , but resided in California most of his life. He graduated from Newark High School in 1967, served in the U.S. Navy and earned an honorable discharge.He was a member of the United Auto Workers for over forty years until his retirement four years ago.Arturo enjoyed gardening. For decades, he cultivated hibiscus of different colors. His granddaughters were blessed to have a retired grandfather to enrich their lives with his time and unfailing generosity. He was a patient, good natured man who enjoyed life. He was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed.Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, June 11th from 3:30 - 8:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Rosary at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA. An 11:00 AM Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, June 12th at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 41933 Blacow Rd. Fremont, CA. Interment will follow the Mass at Irvington Memorial Cemetery. Arturo B.
