Claire Sumiko Teshima passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, March 21, 2015. She was born in Gilroy on August 04, 1940 the second of three children. As a toddler she and her family were interned during WWII when the Japanese Americans were forced from their homes due to Executive Order 9066. After, the family remained in the SF Bay Area and continued running the family owned strawberry ranch until 1972. Claire worked for the Federal Bankruptcy Court in Oakland as the executive clerk for many years.
Claire leaves behind her three children: Terry Allen Ajimura, Tami Lynn Yukie Lundberg, and Paige Ann Ajimura; her three beautiful grandchildren: Keely Danielle Cork, Taylor Ann Miyoko Moore, and Trisha Marie Ajimura; longtime companion Jim Fukui; nephew Kevin Neil Kobayashi; niece Nicole Hellinger; and her beloved pups Pixie and Jacki. Her strength in character and in life will be forever missed.
