Damyanti (Sheila) Gurbux Sainani November 14, 1928 - May 13, 2019 San Jose, CA | Age 90 Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother ... and Beloved 'DADI' to All! Sheila Sainani was born in Larkana, Sindh, survived the partition in 1947, and moved to India in 1948. She later migrated to California in 1980. Sheila found great joy in dedicating her time and energy to those around her. She was known for staying connected to her extended family and encouraged others always to do the same. Sheila is survived by her beloved children Jairaj (married to loving, devoted daughter-in-law, Sonia) and Helen (married to sincere son-in-law, Chandru); 4 charming grandchildren - Sanjay, Shana, Neal and Amit - who, along with their 4 wonderful spouses, resolve to carry on their beloved Dadi’s luminous legacy; 5 vibrant great grandchildren; younger brother Srichand Bijlani; many adored nephews and nieces; and countless dear friends near and far. On May 13th, Sheila received a call with a sort of offer one cannot refuse, for an appointment from which she shall not be return. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus — a reunion with her husband, parents, siblings and other relatives and friends whom she has not seen in a long time. Sheila’s dedication and love for her family and friends drew others toward her. She worked tirelessly for her family all her life and made a difference in the lives of countless others. Sheila’s journey through this life has ended, but her loved ones find comfort in remembering her vibrance, her warmth and her unwavering commitment to those around her. Sheila’s legacy will forever flourish through those impressed upon by such a remarkable and unforgettable soul. We invite you to join in her Life Celebration on Friday, May 17th, 2019 from 1:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of Angels (40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538. 510-656-1226.) In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Sheila's name to: http://join.nokidhungry.org/goto/dadi
