David Ray Resendez December 13, 1960-February 25, 2016 David entered the Lord's Kingdom on Thursday February 25, 2016. He was born in Fremont, California to Antonio and Consuelo Resendez, David was the second of four children, he grew up in Fremont and attended Irvington High School, class of 1979. Received a 4 year degree from California State University, Sacramento. David is preceded in death by his father Antonio Acuna Resendez, Jr. David is survived his son Adrian Resendez, his mother Consuelo, brother Dimas Resendez, sisters Alma Schmid (Rick), Celia Goodwin(Thomas), and adopted sister Yvette Mata Camera. A special nephew to Maria 'Cuca' Rodriguez and Palmira Salazar of Corpus Christi, Texas. A wonderful uncle to Tommy and Christopher Goodwin. David has many family members in Corpus Christi, Texas, Morelia Cointzio Michoacan Mexico, Arizona, and California who will truly miss him. David enlisted in the United States Army, August 1987 stationed in Training Brigade Fort McClellan, Alabama, 1st 507 Airborne Company, Bravo Company, Fort Benning, Georgia; Military Police Investigation unit Fort McClellan, Alabama; Primary Leadership Development Company, Bad Tolz, Germany 90-3; 164 Military Police, Miesau, Germany; South Korea/Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) 38th Parallel Panmujeon, Camp Bonfa. David was honorably discharged from the United States Army on the 12th day of September 1995 with the rank of CPL/E4. He is currently a member of the American Legion, Unit#837, Niles, California. David was employed by the Fremont Unified Unified School district, Great America, Toys R Us, and City of Newark Recreation department. David was a member of the Mission Valley Sports Officials and a Volleyball official in the MVAL. David made many friends while working in the bay area and will be truly missed. His hobbies were playing golf, volleyball, working out, hiking and biking. Rosary Tuesday March 2, 2016 at 6:00pm at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, with a public viewing from 4-8:00 pm, 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA The Funeral Mass is Wednesday March 2nd at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Parish, 41933 Blacow Rd, Fremont, CA The burial site is the Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA 94544
