David Smith

David passed away on August 23, 2019 with his family at his side. He was born on September 15, 1946 in Seattle, Washington to Hubert and Elizabeth Smith, deceased. He graduated from Mount Carmel Elementary where his mother taught, Marin Catholic High School, and the University of San Francisco. He served in the US Army in Vietnam. He worked for over 44 years in retail sales for Montgomery Ward and Wheel Works. He is survived by his long time friend and loving partner Yvonne, daughter Yvette and sons Vincent and Leigh Smith, sisters Mary Beth Orser and Tricia Prendergast, and brother Hugh Smith. He loved and cherished his grandchildren - Mikey and Dylan Page, Lucas and Cody Smith, Skyler and Weston Viola, J.T., Hunter, Evan, and Trapper Grimsley, and his princess Alasia Bammer. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and cooking over an open flame, spending time with his family, the beach, tie dye, and helping others in any way and with anything they needed. He enjoyed helping with the local Boy Scouts and his sons both attained Eagle Scout rank. He loved live music, fairs and street festivals, and food (especially food that he was not supposed to eat!) His family and friends remember him as a special guy and a character who was always trying to make people laugh and smile. We love him and will miss him.
