Deborah Leah Carruth

Deborah Carruth, a Fremont resident for 13 years, passed away on August 24, 2012 at the age of 55. She was born on January 13, 1957 to Allan and Fern Van Sickle in Castro Valley, CA. Loving sister of Allan Van Sickle of Fremont and Brian Van Sickle of Oakland, CA. Cherished friend of Ron and Dorothy Melen and their family. Deborah was an advocate for people with disabilities, having traveled many times and writing many letters to elected officials regarding this cause. She volunteered at Carlton Plaza on Walnut Ave. and enjoyed doing jigsaw and word puzzles in her free time. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Fremont. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 1:30 - 3:00 PM followed by a 3:00 PM funeral service on Weds., September 5, 2012 at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA.
