Delfina Lozoya passed away on January 6, 2016 at her home in Discovery Bay. She was born to Pedro Espinosa and Guadalupe Alvarado on August 16, 1932 in Santa Barbara, CA and resided in Fremont for 48 years. Loving mother of Liza Lozoya Ernst and her husband Richard of Discovery Bay and Francine Lozoya of Fremont. Cherished sister of Vangie Weston, Louise Sandoval, Johnette Jackson and Peter Anero. Devoted grandmother of Genevieve, Oscar Jr. and Sergio Martinez, Joshua Lozoya and Jared Lozoya and great-grandchildren Dominique Ramos, Camila Martinez and Joseph Portwood. She was preceded in death by her children Catherine Frances Rivera (1970) and Ralph Lozoya (1998). Delfina was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved them more than life itself. She was the owner of Tel-Assistance Answering Service in Fremont and was a member of Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church. She was passionate about human rights and was involved in Affirmative Action at Hayward Hunts Cannery, marched with Cesar Chavez, worked along side Ron Dellum for Civil Rights and fought for the Civil Rights and Equal Pay for Women. Family and friends are invited to attend a 5:00-8:00 PM visitation on Tuesday, January 12th with a 7:00 PM vigil at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA. A 11:30 AM Mass of Resurrection will be held Wednesday, January 13th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 43148 Mission Blvd., Fremont CA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.

  1. There are no words to express what void I have in my heart with your passing. I know it was your time to be with our heavenly Father. If I could of had my way you would of been here with us forever. You will forever be the matriarch of our family. Because of you as a family we will stand united and celebrate your life. Never a day will pass that we won’t think of you. I have so many memories to keep your spirit alive until we meet again at the gates of heaven. I love you so much my Bela. We now have a guardian angel watching over us.
