Domenica Lamanna

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Domenica (Ninnella) Lamanna, at the age of 86 years old after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She left this world suddenly on March 31, 2022.

She was born in Castelsilano, Italy, to the late Salvatore and Rosina Cristiano and survived by her husband, Tommaso Lamanna, and brother, Giovanni Cristiano, proceeded by the passing of her loving siblings, Giuseppe, Raffaele, Francesco, and Marietta.

Domenica is affectionately survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law’s, Luigi (Caterina) and Salvatore (Monica). She leaves behind six grandchildren, Domenica, Tommy (Shannon), Sally (David), Francesco (Christina), Fabrizio (Misty), and Aurelia. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, John Michael, Isabella Caterina, Brooks Patrick, Francesca Giovanna Beatrice, Emilliana Lia, Aurora Michelle. And many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mamma/Nonna Domenica loved spending time in the kitchen (garage), creating delicious meals for her family. Her specialties where all the Christmas delicious sweets (Pitta impugliate, Mastazzuolo, Lupini Torrone, Squaratella, and Turdilli). The grandchildren would gather around the kitchen table and loved listening to Nonna’s stories and singing Italian folklore songs.

Visitation will start at 5:00 PM with a Vigil service at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont CA 94538. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the Our Lady of Guadalupe, 41933 Blacow Rd, Fremont, CA 94538. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
