Douglas William Corrick

douglas corrick
Born in Flint, MI to Gerald and Pearl Corrick, Doug was raised in San Francisco and graduated from SF State with a degree in Physics/Business. In 1972, mutual friends introduced Doug to Karen Cuatto of San Francisco. Romance blossomed quickly and they were married later that year. In 1975 they welcomed their only child, Brian. The following decades were spent making wonderful memories as a close family unit. A lover of science fiction and nature, Doug was the consummate 'straight man' with a sharp wit and a dry sense of humor. A quiet soul and dispenser of wisdom, he loved his family unconditionally. Predeceased by his sister Saryl Von der Porten (Ed) and nephew Eric (Cathy), Doug is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Karen, devoted son Brian (Lisa), grandson Spencer, nephew Michael (Elaine), extended family and many dear friends. Celebration of life and reception on Monday, April 11th at 1:00PM at the Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels in Fremont. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

Guestbook

  1. So, so sorry to know he’s gone.

A great guy with good adventures in the California foothills and West Virginia.

When people tell stories of past people, it’s often judicious to leave out certain things. I don’t think there is anything that needs to be omitted in discussions of Doug. A quiet, even temperament — we need more people like Doug.

Keep in touch with family, plant some daffodils, do some good: keep Doug’s spirit with you.
