Edna E. Gamba Feb 22, 1915 - Mar 4, 2012 Resident of Fremont Edna Elaine Gamba, born in Niles, CA and resident of Fremont for 97 years, lost her battle with a short illness, surrounded by family and dear caregiver's at Sunrise Residential Inn, Newark, CA where she lived for the past 4 yrs. Edna had a love of music her entire life and was truly gifted in many ways. She performed with the first Washington Township Little Theater, performances with St. Rose Hospital Follies, and volunteered time performing for Convalescent Homes with a western music group, and Harmonica group, she also taught Guitar to Seniors. Active with the Fremont Senior Center for many years, she performed with the 'Young at Heart' Band, as well as forming her own band some 25+ years ago, 'Edna's Fremontaires'. Her band played for many Pancake breakfasts for the Niles Veterans Post #7. She was an active Community Volunteer and 'Volunteer of the Year' with City of Fremont donating many hours and handiwork of home made afghans and scarf's for church boutique's and also for the community and homeless. Member of Washington Township Women's Club, S.P.R.S.I. and several organizations. Devoted wife of the late Albert Gamba. Loving mother to Carolyn Caminada, Fremont, Marlene Swarts, Modesto, beloved sister of Larry (Toni) Torres of San Leandro, dearest grandmother of Jeffrey (Janet) and Brian (Linda) Caminada, Michele and Melanie Swarts, Julie (Jim) Croak, and great grand- mother of Anthony (Kathryn) and Nick Caminada, Elizabeth (Brett) Masset, Joseph Means, Aaron and Bryan Smith, and Sarah Croak, 1 great, great grandson, Baby Skylar. Memorial mass will be 10:00 a.m, March 9th at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 37891 2nd St., Fremont.
