April 9, 1958 ~ February 21, 2023
Born in:
Vallejo, California
Resided in:
Frtemont, California
Eddie was born April 9, 1958 in Vallejo, CA. He passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023 at Washington Hospital surrounded by family.
He was the middle child of Ed and Polly Marsden and loving brother to sisters, Cheryl and Sandy.
Having been born into a Navy family, he traveled and lived in various cities throughout the United States. In 1966, the family moved to Alameda where he attended grade school. In 1968, the family moved to San Lorenzo, where Eddie attended Bohannon Jr. High and was nominated MVP of his soceer team. He joined the Boy Scouts and also became a “paper boy ,” riding his bike delivering papers for the “Oakland Tribune.” He went on to graduate from San Lorenzo High where he excelled in Cross Country running, earning the nick name “Fast Eddie.” After graduation he enrolled at Chabot College, Hayward.
At the age of 21, he was called to Alaska to fish on his grandfather’s commerical fishing vessel the “Barbara Ann” with Captain John Marsden. He throughly enjoyed his new found adventure and was able to meet his large extended family while there.
Eddie was adventurous and enjoyed the great outdoors from camping at Zepher Cove, NV and later in the family’s vacation home in South Lake Tahoe where he skied his favorite slopes and wind surfing on the lake.
He was a HVAC contractor and an energetic worker who loved his job. He was loving, generous and would help anyone in need, whether they were strangers, neighbors, friends or family. He was the “go to guy.” He loved and enjoyed spending his time with many BBQ’s (thank you Lori and Dave) with family and friends. He was a deeply religious man and served as an usher at his church, “Jubilee” for many years until illness forced his retirement. His great grandfather, “Edward Marsden” was the founder, builder and pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Metlakatla, Alaska.
Eddie is survived by his parents, Edward and Polly Marsden. Sisters, Cheryl (Richie) and Sandy, daughter, Jayla (Tony) and grandson Ezikiel. Nephews and nieces, Jacob, Erika (Vadim), Jason, Tyler, Levi, Alina, Caleb and Evelyn. Aunties, Punky, Darcel (Leo), Dee Dee (Brian), Barbara and their families and many cousins. B/F and Lil’ brother Jim Zentner. Former wife, Luisa, daughters, Lori (Dave), Jenny, Journey (Nikko) and children. Predeceased daughter, Charm.
