Efrain (Fred) Pina

December 26, 1960 ~ February 3, 2021
Born in:
Morelia, Mexico
Resided in:
Newark, California
Efrain (Fred) Servin Piña was born in Morelia, Michoacán Mexico on December 26, 1960 to parents Hector and Minerva Piña. Efrain grew up in Newark California and attended Newark Memorial high school, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Berta Piña. They were married for 30 years and had two beautiful children Freddy Piña and Anita Nassar along with three precious grandchildren, Alyssa Moreno, Zenna Nassar and Ziad Nassar. Efrain loved his family unconditionally and was so very proud of his children. Efrain worked for Raychem Corp. for 28 years.
Efrain was very involved in his church and gave back to his community by helping feed the homeless in Fremont, Union City, Hayward, and Castro Valley. He also delivered food for needy families in Newark and Fremont and encouraged all people he encountered.
His devotion and firm belief in God supported him throughout his life and ultimately gave him peace. The Lord took him home on February 3, 2021 where he has reunited with his Father Hector Piña and Brothers Rick and Hector Piña Jr. It brings us much comfort knowing he will be watching over his family. Efrain was blessed to have spent his last days with his good friend Fairilla Turner.
Efrain is survived by his son Efrain Piña Jr. and his fiancé, Monet Borjon, his daughter Anita Nassar and her husband, Sadik Nassar, Berta Piña and grandchildren Alyssa Moreno, Zenna Nassar and Ziad Nassar.
Mother Minerva Piña, sisters Sylvia Kaufman and her husband Bob, Mary Piña and her husband Jose, Marina Rodriguez, Martha Garza and her husband Armando.
He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Creator.
Due to COVID-19, the services will be private/invitation only but the zoom to attend while at home is attached below.

It was the worse news that i received on February 3, 2021, that you had passed.
I am so heart broken because we had so many plans. I am so thankful for the time that we had together. As much as I want you back, I feel that you are with our Lord and Savior looking down on us and praising the Lord every day. It gives me comfort knowing that you are not struggling, nor suffering anymore. I will cherish the memories that we had. Until we meet again, you just keep praising God.
Love you,
Fairillia Turner
Rest in heaven

I met you in church with your sister Marina and immediately felt we had know each other for ever ..I was struggling with my loss of my nefew also had gone to Teen Challenge.. I prayed for my nefew healing n sobriety as I did for Fred as well for a year and half . I realized God was answering my prayer n God brought you home with him as well as my nefew It hurts everyday but memories will get us all through We will see you again Family lean into your feelings n keep your love alive by remembering the good things you May you find peace 🙏🙏🙏
You leave us with heavy hearts knowing that the phone calls will no longer be coming to check on the family to make sure everyone is doing well. Instead we are left to reflect on the beautiful memories you left all of us, each one unique to each one of us. From memories of childhood games, bar-b-ques, family
get together’s, phone calls or just just simply spending time together. However one thing was definitely constant to all, the beautiful smile, the chuckle when you laughed but most of all the love we felt from you. These are the things we will miss, but take comfort in knowing you are at peace. You will be missed dearly Primo. Until we are reunited again.
Rest in love.
Words can’t express the grief I felt when I heard you passed, my heart was broken, even though we never met in person, the short time we talked, impacted my life with your kindness
And care, I thank you for the prayer you did over the phone. You were truly anointed, will miss the phone calls to see how I was doing with my illness
It was a gift to be in the same prayer group together with Pastor Eliana
You will forever live in the hearts of all who loved you. No more struggles for you, now I feel at peace you are with our Lord and savior for eternity
Will meet in heaven for the first time
And will work for the Lord together
See you later Efrain.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your son/brother, Fred Pina. One of my fondest memories of Fred is when we would all be in the street playing flag football. Oh, the fun we had playing sports in the street!
Fred was taken too soon and too young. May you find comfort knowing he is with the angels.
Love,
Marty
Dear Cousin Fred,
I’m going to miss that warm smile of yours. Last we spoke, you gave me such sound advice on how to help my Dad with his health. I never imagined it would be the last time we spoke. I have so many great memories of you that it brings me comfort during this sad time. God speed Fred. Tell Hector, Rick and my Uncle we miss them. Love you cousin.
U will be forever missed. I will always remember the times we shared and the talks we had. U will always be my brother. Rest In Peace.
I have so many great memories since high school of my brother Fred. He was a very nice man. He loved all his family and friends. He was that kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. When I think of him at this moment I can hear his beautiful unique laugh and see his big smile. Brother Fred I will truly miss you.
Rest in paradise.
love Chris
