Elena Deleon Perez

Elena Perez Born July 22, 1935 in Kingsville, Texas, and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 27, 2019 at the age of 83. Elena was a homemaker and was married to her beloved husband Rodolfo Perez for 63 years. While raising their six children together in Fremont, CA, Elena enjoyed spending time with her family - boating, camping, baking and making homemade tortillas. Rodolfo and his wife resided in Atwater, CA, from 1987-2015. In May 2015, after Elena's 'Hon' passed, Elena returned to live in Fremont with her daughter Rosie and family for four years. The last four months of her life, Elena, resided with her son Roland and family. Elena's family will always remember her watching her novelas and cowboy movies; making tamales at Christmas; her love for Jelly Belly's, coffee, Big Red gum, conchas, pumpkin empanadas and ordering jewelry. Elena was preceded in death by her parents Marcos DeLeon Sr. and Maria Sanchez; her husband Rodolfo Perez; her brother and sisters: Valentina Champ, Marcos DeLeon Jr., Antonia Lopez, Salome DeLeon, and Arnulfo DeLeon; her grandsons John Rudy (JR) Rodriguez, Robert Perez Jr. and Rodger Perez Jr. Elena is survived by her sister: Maria DeLeon Diaz; six children: Rudy Perez (Donna); Roel Perez (Jackie); Roland Perez (Dawn); Roger Perez; Robert Perez (Tiiu) and Rosie Brozoski (Dave); 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her family will truly miss their matriarch of the family. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 30th, from 1:00-5:00 pm. The Rosary will begin 3:30 pm at the Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels (40842 Fremont Blvd.) in Fremont, CA. A Christian mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1st at St. Joseph Catholic Church (43148 Mission Blvd.) in Fremont, CA. Graveside services will be held immediately following the funeral at Calvary Catholic Cemetery (2650 Madden Ave.) in San Jose, CA. The family invites family and friends for a reception at 12:30 pm at Spin-A-Yarn (45915 Warm Springs Blvd.), in Fremont, CA after services.
