October 3, 1933 ~ February 5, 2022

Born in: Athea, Ireland
Resided in: Fremont, California

Elizabeth (Betty) Bridget Glick of Fremont, CA passed away on February 5, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Betty was born in Athea, County Limerick, Ireland on October 3, 1933, to parents Patrick Fitzgerald and Bridget O’Keeffe.  Betty was the youngest of eight children.

Betty married Stephen Kelleghan and had three sons in Corby, England.  After Stephen’s passing, she met and married William Glick.

After marrying William and coming to the United States, they had two more sons and eventually settled in Fremont. She quickly established deep roots within her church. Ever devout, Betty took great joy in serving her local parish in a variety of capacities including her time as a Eucharistic minister. Through her service with the church and her involvement with her children’s schools, Betty built life-long friendships with hundreds of fellow parishioners, neighbors, family and friends.

Over the years Betty touched a great many lives and even if she had just met someone, she had the remarkable ability to make them feel loved and cared for. She took great joy in showering friends and family with food; especially her handmade Irish scones, Christmas candies and her famous chocolate chips cookies. Betty also took immense pride in her traditional Irish children’s sweaters that she hand-knitted for hundreds of ‘soon-to-be’ parents over the years.

Betty was a kind, loving, warm and caring person who will be greatly missed. No matter how long you knew her, her warmth and genuine spirit made you feel special. It would be safe to say that many people felt as if they’d known her for years and that she was one of their closest friends.

We invite all these close friends and those that she touched to come celebrate her life.

Betty was predeceased by her husbands Stephen Kelleghan and William Glick, son Stephen & daughter-in-law Kim.

Betty is survived by her sons Patrick (Solinda), Sean (Kristen), Michael (Megan), David (Tracy), Grandchildren Stephen, Christopher (Brianna), Maureen, Shannon (Mark), Stephanie, Tara, Connor, Caitlyn, Isabella, Great Grandchildren Matix, Sloane, Sawyer, & Christopher Jr.

Guestbook

  1. Betty was an angel here on this earth and now has earned her well deserved “Angel Wings” God bless her. Rest In Peace dear Betty.

    Charlie and Sandy Marotta

  2. What a blessing she was. Treasured by all who knew her and loved her, that was our beloved Aunt Betty! The best discussions we ever had in our lives were about our love for Jesus Christ. A woman of faith. I believe the Lord shined through her. As for me I am so happy that Auntie is spending an eternity in the Loving arms of Jesus Christ. Yes she will be missed!

    Pamela & David Wipprecht

  3. We knew Mrs. Glick for over 45 years and we will always remember her with great love and fondness. I had the pleasure of seeing her about a year ago and I was so happy that I was able to give her a hug. I will never forget that. We will always remember fondly of her enormous kindness and her eagerness to help out at Blacow Elementary and church. When our two youngest children were born, she made them wonderful baby sweaters that they still have as keepsakes. Our deepest condolences to all the family and please know she is very much loved by our community.

    Ana & Jesus Bustamante
