Erma Lou Wagoner April 24, 1930 – April 17, 2017 Fremont Erma Lou Wagoner passed away Monday, April 17 in Fremont, Ca. She was 86. Lou was born to Wayman and Helen (Beall) Wagoner in Clovis, Ca. where she was raised with her younger sister Marilyn. She earned a teaching credential at Fresno State, then taught elementary school in California for a few years before her adventurous spirit led her to accept a teaching position in Alaska where she eventually met her future husband. They moved to the Tri-City area, raising a family of three children while Lou worked as a homemaker and part-time substitute teacher. Lou faithfully supported her children's activities and taught them how to cook, sew and play the piano. At home, Lou was a true 'do-it-yourselfer'—doing repairs and redesigns while demonstrating an artistic flair and knack for creatively 'repurposing' all sorts of household and construction materials. Following a divorce, and with her children grown, Lou concentrated her passion and talents on custom designing and renovating the homes she lived in. Of course, she did most of the work herself—building furniture and creating her own interiors and landscapes. Lou enjoyed traveling in addition to avidly chronicling her family's genealogy and she would often combine her road trips with research. In her later years, Lou opted for living in various senior communities and spent the last year at Aegis of Fremont. She is survived by her daughter Cathy McCall (Ted) of San Lorenzo; son David Campbell of Fremont; daughter Janet Campbell of Hawaii; and granddaughters, Dana and Hayley. At the family's request, no services will be held. Donations may be made in Lou's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
