Ernesto (Ernie) Baca, 88 of Fremont, passed away May 9th, 2018, surrounded by his wife and loving family. Ernesto was born Feb 23rd, 1930 in Vaughn, New Mexico to Pascual and Francisquita Baca. He is survived by his Wife of 63 years Eleanor Baca, Children:Arlene (Jim), David, Glen (Kristy), Annette, Lisa (Bryan). Brothers: Pascual and Felipe, Sisters: Florencia and Dora, 13 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Daughter in law Yvonne Denison and Son in law Danny Garcia. Preceded by: Son Roy, Daughter in law Jo Ann, Parents Pascual & Francesquita Baca, Brothers Liberato, George, Sister Rita and Ron Hogan. Ernesto married the love of his life in 1955, and moved to Fremont in 1962 where they raised their family and have resided ever since. Ernesto was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He worked for GM Fremont/Kansas City (30 Years). He was vice president of the UAW Local 1364 Retirees. Ernesto was a lifelong Oakland A’s/Raider fan and a devoted Democrat.
Visitation will be Monday May 14, 2018 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm held at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels in Fremont. Funeral mass will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Fremont. Burial to follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery
