Esther Janes

Esther Janes passed away at 97 on the evening of August 26th, 2023, at her residence in Daly City, CA. Born in Oakland, CA in 1925, Esther dedicated her life to her loved ones and was incredibly resilient, always finding light in even the darkest situations. She loved to laugh and could see the humor in anything. Fiercely loyal to her family, she is survived by her son, Michael Janes, her daughter-in-law Najla Khoja Janes, and three granddaughters (Ivy, Mia, and Ava). A service will honor her long and wonderful life on Thursday, August 31st, at the Chapel of the Angels in Fremont, CA, where she will be celebrated. She will rest next to her husband Roy Janes at Irvington Memorial Cemetary in Fremont.
