Eugene Cardenas

Eugene Cardenas passed away peacefully at the age of 63 on September 11, 2021 in Manteca, CA.  He was born in San Jose, CA, grew up in Newark, CA, and graduated in 1975 from Irvington High School located in Fremont, CA.

Eugene had an endless passion for dogs and cats.  He and Darlene Filena had a well-known dog grooming business in Fremont. He enjoyed the outdoors, barbecuing, and camping.  He had a gentle spirit, was thoughtful, and infinitely patient. He will be remembered for his big heart and caring approach to life.

Eugene is survived by his mother, Otilia Cardenas, and six brothers:  Rogelio, Jose, Eliseo Jr., Artemio, Daniel, Orlando, and numerous nieces and nephews.  His father, Eliseo Cardenas Sr., passed away in 1984.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Compassion Without Borders, www.cwob.org, a nonprofit dedicated to providing a brighter future for animals in need.
