Gene Kelsey Feb. 11, 1933 - Apr. 20, 2015 Resident of Brentwood Gene Kelsey went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2015 in Brentwood, at the age of 82. Gene is survived by the love of his life, Marlene, daughters Linda and Marla, sister Suzanne, 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Steven. He is remembered as compassionate, caring, and having a great sense of humor. He was the patriarch at the center of our loving family. Gene was born on February 11, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio. He served in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He raised his family in Washington while working as a Public Relations representative for Pacific Utilities District. He coached youth sports and was a member of Chamber of Commerce in the Tri-Cities. In 1972, the Kelsey family moved to Fremont. He did well in Automotive Parts Sales while in Fremont for 30 years. His wife was a daycare provider and Gene became 'Grandpa' to generations of children. His love for life and care for people was displayed through his meaningful relationships with all he came in contact. Gene was a friend to many. His positive outlook on life through all situations provided encouragement to everyone. He will be missed on Earth, but his legacy of love and care lives through all of the lives he touched. Services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels in Fremont. Viewing is at 9:30 AM and the Memorial service is at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Irvington Ceremony with a reception to celebrate his life at Swiss Park in Newark from 12-3 pm.

  2. You were the sunshine in our lifes. We were great neighbors at the Clayton Regency mobil home park for several years. We had some great times together and we love being friends and part of your family and sharing many special occasions with all of you. Your love for Marlene was so special and dear and so truely beautiful. I know you enjoyed to see Addie on our visits, because I sure did. You are an angel now and will over see all of us until we met again. you will be missed but within our hearts forever for all of us you have touch in your life.
