Geraldine "Gerry" Higgins

Geraldine Higgins was born in Oakland on January 24, 1942 to the late George and Dena Baptist. She graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland, Ca. in 1959. She is the devoted mother of Sheila and John Wright and Annmarie and David Cobb both of Castro Valley, Grandmother to her three beloved grandchildren; Brittany, Jaclyn, and Colby. Gerry is the beloved sister to Ronald Baptist and sister-in-law to Bette Baptist of Livermore. She is the Godmother and beloved Aunt of Bryan Baptist of Pleasanton and Annette Jankosky of Carmel Valley, and grand aunt to Savannah and Chloe Jankosky. Gerry kept a strong faith in Christ throughout her life and enjoyed her bible study at Faith Fellowship of San Leandro. Her children and grandchildren also brought great joy, as she never missed one of their dance competitions, recitals or sporting events. She was their biggest fan and had a special relationship with each one. A Memorial Celebration will be on Thursday Feb. 11 at 2:00 P.M. at Redwood Chapel Community Church, 19300 Redwood Rd, Castro Valley, CA 94546. Reception to follow.
