Gertrud Luise Cisneros, passed away on June 12, 2020, in Fremont, California. “Trudy” was born on July 8, 1935, to Heinrich and Anna Ploch in Darmstadt, Germany. She was proud of her German heritage but equally if not prouder to become an American citizen in 1969. She was a resident of Hayward, California.

Trudy was first married to the late Robert Gilkyson for 25 years and they had 4 children together. She later married Henry Cisneros from 1982 until his passing in 1994.

Trudy is survived by her children Ralf Gilkyson of Issaquah, WA, Heidi Roe, and husband,

Trudy lived life to the fullest and had an infectious smile that would light up a room every time she made an entrance. She had a larger than life personality and a feisty sense of humor which we will greatly miss. A true fashion diva, Trudy loved shopping and took pride in always looking her best. Creative in nature, she was gifted in cooking, home décor, music, sewing, crocheting, ceramics, and gardening. She was also a savvy business woman who owned her own delicatessen and catering business. She was passionate about all animals especially her dogs Fritzi and Max. Trudy was very involved throughout her children’s lives and spent countless hours volunteering for multiple organizations from scouting to swimming to women’s church groups. She was a spirited and caring person who would give you the shirt off her back. She was an amazing friend and mother who will live on in our hearts forever.

  10. CandleGitta (Heidi, Renate, Ralf and families),
I am very sorry for your loss and send sincere condolences to you all. I have WONDERFUL childhood memories of your mom – (OK, and a few echos of being, well, put straight, when wreaking havoc at sleep overs at your house!). I can still hear her laugh, taste the potato salad and sandwiches she always generously provided and see her beautiful smile! Beauty inside and out. Gitta – our friendship was a blessing for me, and as I’ve said, even though years ago, I cherished it. We spent so many hours together collecting trinkets and stickers and listening to cassette tapes and records memorizing words to songs. You were a part of my family and all the Schafir’s send their love. Trudy, rest in peace and may your memory be a blessing!-

  11. i love you, Trudy. You are such a special friend to me. You will never leave my heart and i will mourn your loss daily. We will continue to garden together and laugh at our antics. You are
