Gladys V. Corcino, 82, of Newark, passed away Saturday (Nov. 23, 2019) at Kaiser Permanente Fremont.
She was a loving wife and mother.
Gladys was born Mar. 18, 1937 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Ismael and Alejandra (Hernández) Cuevas. She was a resident of Newark for over 50 years.
On Jan. 25, 1957 she married the love of her life Pedro (Pete) Corcino in New Jersey.
Gladys enjoyed painting, crocheting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her sons, Peter Corcino of Newark, Eugene Corcino of Orlando, Fla., and Richard Corcino of San Francisco; her grandchildren, Chloe and Joel; her 6 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Johnny Padín of Aguadilla and Tony Padín of Orlando; and her sisters, Isabel Padín and Dilma Padín, both of Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday Dec. 5 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark; followed by graveside services at Irvington Memorial Cemetery, 41001 Chapel Way, Fremont.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

    You taught me so many things. The best stuff was when I could spend time with you and all the boys went to the ballpark with Pete. You taught me how to play jacks and to snap my gum. CandleWith such a heavy heart I am signing this book..I can not even express what I felt for Gladys..she was my mom’s best friend for over 45 years she took care of me as a child …she taught me about Puerto Rican food I loved her as if she were my own mother my heart is broken..
