Gregory M. Whalley

May 26, 1949 ~ April 20, 2017
Resided in:
Fremont, CA
Greg Whalley 67 began his journey on April 20th 2017, with a sign on bonus of a reunion with family and friends. He fought a courageous battle with the intention of living a good life with his loved ones, alas his illness got the better of him. Greg had an amazingly strong heart both literally and figuratively; this fact was hidden from most except for those he let in. He loved deeply and protected those closest to him fiercely. Greg was a fountain of knowledge and imparted his wisdom freely and kindly whenever called upon. He graduated from CSUH where he met his wife Lynda! They were married forty-four years and have an awesome son Jason, wonderful Daugher-In-Law Liz and adored grandson Landan. Greg was preceded on his journey by his mother Marie and father Samuel as well as his sister Gloria. Greg loved his family, brothers Don, Barry, Tim, his sister Joan, and all of his nieces, nephews and cousins. He worked forty years in helping and supporting mentally challenged adults before he retired. Greg will be missed by many, by all those whose lives he touched including his constant companion, Athena.
At our 50th reunion planning meeting yesterday I found out about this sad news. He had this old green plymouth in HS at St Joe’s. I was looking forward to asking him whatever happened to that car and to saying hello. Condolences to his family.
It’s been quite awhile, Lynda, but when I saw your husband’s obituary I wanted to extend my condolences. I am so very sorry for your loss. May your memories comfort you.
