Helen Paulson entered peacefully into rest on Memorial Day. Born in Omaha, Nebraska to Herman and Anna Larsen, she was 90 years old. In 1948 she married Paul Paulson, a U.S. Marine and World War II veteran, and they were married for 63 years. Survived by her children Jeanne Marie Smith, Grant Paulson, and Gayle Neumann (Chuck), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother Harold Larsen (Anne), and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband Paul, children Mark, Lance, and Diane, and her sister Frances Larsen McGee and brother Hartvig Larsen. Helen and Paul moved to Fremont in 1963, living on Griffith Avenue amongst many wonderful neighborhood friends. She was active in Irvington Presbyterian Church and New Hope Community Church, Fremont National Youth Baseball, Fremont Christian Women's Club and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed attending A's baseball games, Cloverleaf Bowling League, Card Club, making ceramics, and organizing the annual Pancake Breakfast, Fourth of July Party, and her Baby Party. She never missed attending her grandchildren's school and sporting events, and they loved her being there. She was the epitome of a good Christian woman, known for her organization, love of ice cream, and all things patriotic. Helen was a loyal and generous friend to everyone, making many lifelong friendships. She will be greatly missed for her bright smile, thoughtfulness, and caring nature. The family wishes to thank her wonderful caretakers at Muriel's Residential Facility II, for their loving and devoted care of Helen, and all of her wonderful friends for loving her. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life, Saturday, June 7th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:30 a.m., held at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA.
