Hilda Kay Curtis

Ms. Hilda Kay Curtis, age 79 from San Leandro, California passed away peacefully on January 16th, 2018 in Fremont, California from respiratory disease. Hildy was born to Michael and Nola (Schenck) Curtis on October 28th, 1938 in Yakima, Washington. Hildy grew up in Tieton where she attended Highland High School graduating in 1956. Hildy was very active in the Tieton Community throughout her school years. After graduation Hildy attended Washington State University. Hildy accepted a position with the City of Oakland Social Services where she remained employed for 35 years retiring in 1994. Hildy was a highly respected employee whose contributions were valued by her peers and leaders. Hildy was an avid sports fan who very rarely missed an opportunity to watch her beloved Raiders. Hildy enjoyed music, dancing and travel with her long time companion Frank Pratt. Hildy made her last trip in 2016 when she returned to Tieton to attend her 60th High School Class reunion. Hildy was preceded in death by her Parents Michael and Nola Curtis, her sister Janet Chandler and her brother Michael P. Curtis. Hildy will be interred in Yakima, Washington at the Tahoma Cemetery in a private service on January 27th, 2018 alongside her parents. Aunt Hildy will be greatly missed but will reside in hearts of her friends and family forever.
