Jacqueline A. Reis (Jackie) 82 passed away peacefully in her home in Fremont, California, with family members on January 19, 2020. Jackie was born in San Francisco, California on February 11th, 1937. As a teenager her family moved to Hayward, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene R. Reis and son David M. Reis.
Jackie is survived by her brother Frank Urbani and sister in law Barbara of Carson City, NV, brother Doug Urbani and sister in law Marilyn of Sparks, NV, daughter Terry Vincent of Castro Valley, son Michael Reis & Lisa Soutar of Byron, son Anthony Reis & Jill Urick of Modesto, son Daniel Reis of Fremont, daughter Sheryl Reis of Fremont, 12 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and her dog Sadie of Fremont.
Jackie settled in Fremont, CA with the love of her life, Gene R. Reis 60 years ago and had 6 children. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and was a trusted adult for many youth and adults throughout the years. It was not unusual to have additional kids at our dinner table growing up and our parents often took others into their home.
Jackie has been a homemaker for the past 50+ years raising her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader, cross word puzzle expert, and an enthusiastic walker. She also had a quite extensive movie collection. Her favorite candy bar was a Butterfinger and would eat them daily. Her quick wit and sarcasm was often the way she showed her love. People described her as: #mom #smart #glue #strength #unique #feisty #Zah #life #honest #spunk #humorous #witty #nofilter
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 8th, 2020 at noon at a family member’s home. For Celebration information call the Chapel of the Angels at (510.656.1226) or email at office@bpschapel.com.

Steve and I are so sorry to hear of Mrs, Reis’ passing. She was always kind to both of us and our parents. She was a fixture in our neighborhood, walking to and from the store at least once a week. She politely turned down our offers to give her a ride, commenting with a wry smile, “This is how I stay young. Maybe once I get older, I’ll take you up on that offer. Thanks!” She May be gone, but never forgotten. We’ll keep your family in our prayers.
Thinking of you and sending healing prayers 🙏
and may our prayers help comfort you and your family at this time of loss.
