James C. Gribben, a 30 year resident of Fremont, passed away at Stanford Hospital on October 23, 2015. He was born on April 16, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Jackie Langan and James Gribben. Loving father of Aaron Gribben of Antioch, CA. Beloved son of Jackie Langan of Fremont, CA and James Gribben of Wood Dale, IL. Cherished brother of Victoria Tolan of Wood Dale, IL and Elizabeth Yeffa of San Jose, CA. Devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews. James proudly served in the Navy on the USS California. He was an avid auto racing enthusiast, an usher at Our Lady of Guadalupe, and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was well known for his sense of humor and ability to make people laugh. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, November 4th from 5:30 - 8:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Vigil at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538. A 10:30 AM Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, November 5th at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 41933 Blacow Rd., Fremont, CA 94538. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in James' name to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Building Fund, 41933 Blacow Rd., Fremont, CA 94538 or the Leukemia Society of America - Northern California Chapter, 832 Folsom Street, 9th Floor, San Franciso, CA 94107.
