It is with great sorrow that the family of James Serapio Lee Marriott announce his passing on May 7, 2023 in Sacramento, CA. James was born on January 19, 1970 in Berkeley, CA to Ana Maria Flores Cortez and James Lee Marriott, Sr.
James was a beloved husband to Lisa Marriott, father to Gabriel Cornier, Jacob Marriott, Jesse Marriott, Trinity Marriott, and James Anthony Marriott, grandfather to Zala Marriott, stepfather to Noel and Gabriella Holder, brother to Rolanda Ramirez and Joanna Cortez, uncle to Jessica Reyes, Erica Calvo, Jayla Ledesma, and Tiana Meriales, and nephew to Danny Reyes, Jr. He was also loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and treasured friends.
James was a kind-hearted and generous man who was deeply devoted to his family and friends. He had a passion for life and enjoyed many hobbies such as listening and playing music, comedy, drawing, adventuring, and luxury cars. He was also known for his love of his dogs, the Raiders and Warriors, tattoos, any celebration, and his indigenous culture. He was a very handsome, charismatic, silly, sweet heart of a man and will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Services were held on 5/18/23 2:00-4:30 at Berge-Papas-Smith Chapel of the Angels in Fremont, California. A celebration of life was held at Irvington Park in Fremont, California at 5:00-7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Native American heritage association, First nations development institute, or association on American Indian affairs in James’ name.
