Jose Pimentel Facha

Jose Pimentel Facha of Fremont passed away peacefully at his home on June 22^, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Jose was born on June 3, 1933 in Flores, Azores.  He married Teresa Tome on June 3, 1957. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to the United States.

Jose’s love and passion for gardening was on full display in the city of Fremont with his many gardening clients. His own garden was that of beauty and substance.  Whether it was growing many different varieties of roses or a large variety of fruits and vegetables, he was a true man of the earth. He enjoyed sharing his love with his family and friends. He also found joy in traveling back to “the old country” , the Azores, where he would spend a couple months during the summer. There he would catch up with old friends, work on his house, and enjoy the simpler life.

He was proceeded in death by Teresa, his wife of 59 years. He is survived by his five children: Ed Facha of Grants Pass, Oregon, Filomena Facha-Bianchi of Stockton, Luis Facha of Fremont, Victor Facha of Tracy, and Joseph Facha of Livermore. He has 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 beginning at 4:30pm with a prayer service and rosary following at 6:30pm at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA.  A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 9, 2021, at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 43148 Mission Blvd, Fremont. A reception at Jose’s residence will follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Catholic Charities.
